Client: Small, family run Bakery trading for over 25 years. Manufacturer and supplier to national supermarkets, delicatessens, coffee shops, cafés, and corner shops.

Project: To design a point-of-sale stand for use in supermarkets and smaller retail shops.

Point-Of-Sale Stand - Designer's Sketches

Details: The company had set up several contracts for locally supplied to major supermarket chains and they needed a purpose made point-of-sale stand to display their goods. The upper shelves of the stand were to hold packets of the bakery's products in differing packaging. The lower shelves were to hold boxes of the packaged products ready for display on the upper shelves. The stand was to be mainly at the end of aisles in store and therefore needed to be robust in design in order to withstand potential knocks from shopping trolleys and in-store goods trolleys.

A header card was required for the point-of-sale stand which was to be printed with the company's logo and artwork and the shelves suitable to carry shelf strips for labelling and pricing. The holder for the header card was designed to be a “slot” style to enable the header card to be changed when required.

A black powder coated finish was selected for the point-of-sale stand to compliment the packaging and artwork styles used by the company.

A prototype point-of-sale stand was produced for the company to trial and a few design changes were implemented as a result. For example a stylish vertical bar style back panel which was also practical in retaining the products whilst stacked on the shelves.

After the final design was approved, we worked with the graphics company on behalf of the bakery, to produce the artwork for the stand.
